As the race for the 2023 presidential election takes off in the country, various alignments and re-alignments which are breaking the chords that hitherto bond political allies, with attendant impact on loyalty are now upswing in the polity.

These have become even more discernible since the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu made public his intention to run for the presidency.

According to a very reliable source, former Bayelsa State Governor and Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Timipre Sylva is ready to throw his hat into the ring by contesting the 2023 presidential election.

This was revealed to our correspondent  at  an  event on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The source who did not want his name in print, said he can confirm to www.tunjibuhari.blogspot.com that the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources will soon declare his intention.

When asked about the chances of Sylva picking  the party ticket ahead of former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of All Progressives Congress( APC)  Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and host of other party faithful who have also declared their presidential ambition, he said the leadership of the party is not ready to give the ticket to South-West and as such Sylva is at an advantage.

“The leadership of our party has decided the presidential ticket will not be given to aspirant from South West. All other aspirants form the region have been advised in that direction”

Although, this is Sylva first shot at Nigerian presidency,  but the political commentators and supporters  particularly from the South-South region  believe that  he has a high chance of  becoming  the Nigerian  president if he secures  the party ticket because he has what it takes to solve the nation’s economy and security challenges.
